If you cannot find your answer listed here then please contact us with your question. Due to international date lines, please allow 24-48 hours to receive your answer. We will endeavor to answer your question as soon as possible.

For security reasons, please log yourself out of the website when you are finished with your session.

Our site uses 2 Factor Authentication for your safety and ours! 

  1. After you have successfully entered your login information, checked the reCAPTCHA box, and passed the reCAPTCHA test, you will see a One Time Password (OTP) dialogue box. 
  2. The website will send an email containing a 6-digit numeric OTP to your email address.
  3. The OTP will expire after a few minutes! If you did not login in the allotted time you must request a new OTP. Be sure to use the latest one!
  4. Copy and paste the OTP into the OTP dialogue box to complete the login process. 
  5. The OTP will occur every time you log in to the site!

If you don’t get your OTP

  • make sure you are using the same email as in your FX Ecademy account
  • check your SPAM folder
  • in your email program settings, whitelist our domain, fxecademy.com

Due to Internet delays in receiving emails the OTP may already be expired.  If this happens or you have repeated login failures please note the time and forward your OTP email to support@fxecademy.com

  • After several failed login attempts, you will be locked out of the site for a short period of time. 
  • If your login attempts fail consistently, you will be locked out for 24 hours by security. 
  • If you are locked out please note the time and send us a trouble ticket.  Visit Get Support and fill out the form completely.
  • The most common error message will be a code LBF, indicating you are locked out for a period of time.
  • If you attempt to login and get an error message, please contact the Support Team by filling out the form completely.
  • Also, please copy and paste the ‘error message’ into the support form.
  • Given the International date lines, you will be contacted within 24-48 hours.

If you have lost your password, please use the Lost Password? link on the login page to reset it.

You will have both a Display Name and a User Name at FX Ecademy.

  • Display Name – Your Display Name should be a combination of your real first and last names: 
    • This is how the system will address you when it sends you emails
    • If the system says your name is already being used (e.g.: Tom Jones) then acceptable alternative display names would be:, TomJones, Tom.Jones, Tom J, Tom-Jones, Thomas Jones etc.
  • User Name – your User Name is tied to your account and can be a variant of your Display Name, or alpha-numeric, but it must never be your full email address or include any special characters.
    • IMPORTANT: Your User Name cannot be changed once it has been created!
  • Reserved Words – Never use any of the following words in your Display Name, User Name or email address for this site such as but not limited to: admin, administration, account, fxe, fxecademy, course, webinar, shotkits, website, wordpress, etc as words like this will keep your account from functioning properly forcing the account to be blocked by an Administrator based on our security protocols.
  • Password – You will be sent a randomly generated temporary strong password when you create your account. If you wish to change the password please keep these rules in mind:
    • Password entropy predicts how difficult a given password would be to crack through guessing, brute force cracking, dictionary attacks or other common methods.
    • For your safety and ours, please make sure your password entropy is strong!
    • Don’t use any permutations of your username or email address as your password!
    • Your password must be between 12 to 16 characters at a minimum!
    • Passwords should include lower and uppercase letters, numbers and symbols such as @, %, !, $, &, #, and ^.
    • Test your password strength at My1Login Password Test.
  • Email – You can change your email address but you must make sure that you update your account records.

Once logged into the website you will automatically be in your User Account. Here you will find the following links:

  • Dashboard
    • Dashboard – returns to your User Account Dashboard
    • Orders – a comprehensive list of your Order Numbers with ability to view more details of same
    • Downloads – the page where you access your downloadable products like ShotKits
    • Address –change your physical street billing address
    • Account details – edit  your identity information:
      • your first and last names (please use your real name)
      • your display name that appears
      • your email address (please keep your email address current)
      • your password
    • Logout – this link logs the user out of the website
  • Access tab – a comprehensive ‘look only’ list of your purchased memberships and their status’.  
  • Courses tab – grants you access to and tracks your progress of your purchased courses, workshops and webinars. 
  • Download History tab - Please access your ShotKit™ downloads in your Account by using the Downloads link.
  • Use the Login Link on the main navigation menu to log into the website.
  • When you log in to the website you will be in your FX Ecademy User Account, and your Display Name replaces the Login link letting you know you are logged into the system.
  • Your User Account Dashboard link(s) will let you: 
    • Change your billing address.
    • Change your Account details
      • Change your first and last names.
      • Change your Display Name – please always use your real first and last names.
      • Update your email
      • Change your password.
    • View your recent orders.
  • If you encounter any difficulties, visit Get Support and file a support ticket. Please fill out the form completely.
  • Login to your existing account.
  • Click the Account Details link.
  • Type your current / temporary password in the Current Password field; then use tab key to move to the next field.
  • Enter your New Password; then use the tab key to move to the next field.
  • Re-type your new password in the Confirm New Password field.
  • Use the ‘eyeball’ icon to confirm that the passwords match.
  • Click the Save changes button.

If you have lost your password, please use the Lost Password? link on the login page.

  • No. Your account contains your payment history, and we are obliged to keep it.
  • Your account may be closed by our Administration Director. 
  • If you no longer want access to your account contact the Support Team. Please include the following information in the email: 
    • Your first and last names
    • Your Display Name
    • Your email address

Yes. We use cookies to track your account purchases and course progress amongst other things so ‘cookies’ will need to be enabled on your device.

How we use your personal data

Your personal data will be used to process your orders,  support your experience throughout this website, to manage access to your account, and for other purposes described in our privacy policy.

View Your Personal Data

You can view the personal data we are keeping on you.

  1. Submit a support request for a copy of your private data
  2. We will send an email asking that you confirm your request
  3. After you confirm the request we will email a link to your data
  4. Download the data and open the zip file
  5. The data will be in html, open it by clicking or drag the file onto your browser address bar
Erase Your Personal Data

We can erase your personal data.  Doing so may affect our ability to deliver past purchases to you.  Our system may retain certain data for legal reasons.

  1. Submit a support request for a copy of your private data
  2. We will send an email asking that you confirm your request
  3. After you confirm the request we will erase your data
  4. You will receive a notice of erasure

You may not purchase a mentored course until the following criteria are met:

  • Please fill out the Student Application Student Application to be considered for enrollment into our mentored program before you try to purchase a mentored course.
  • You will be contacted to schedule a Skype or Zoom interview with Steve Wright to make sure the course is suitable for you.
  • Once approved for admission, you will be notified by email and the course will be unlocked for you to purchase.
  • First, make sure all details are correct in your customer profile. The name and address on your account must match the name and address on your credit card. 
  • Make sure that your credit card has not expired and that you are using the card’s correct ‘security code’.
  • If your credit card continues to be rejected, please try using PayPal to complete the transaction.
  • If you need further assistance, contact the Support Team.  Please fill out the form completely.
  • Orders link – a comprehensive list of your Order Numbers with ability to view more details of same.
  • Memberships link – a comprehensive list of your purchased Membership Plans and their status’.
  • Courses link – the page where you access and track your purchased courses, webinars and workshops.
    • Course Media – downloadable course media can be found on the respective course or lesson page.
  • Downloads link – the page where you access your downloadable products like ShotKits™.
  • Past order history can be found in your user Account/Orders  section
    • Click your name in the main menu to open your User Account
    • Click on the Orders link to see a list of your purchases.
  • Use the Next and Previous buttons below the list to navigate through your orders. 
  • Click the View button to see your purchase details. 
  • If you have a purchase that is not showing, please contact the Support Team
  • Please send us your contact information and any previous order numbers from your previous purchase receipts.

The courses purchased on our website will be available for you to watch when your purchase is complete.

After you receive your purchase confirmation email, login to www.fxecademy.com.  If already logged in, refresh your browser.

Your Account page contains a concise list of your courses, downloads, and memberships.  Memberships unlock premium features, courses, and more.

  • The courses purchased on our website will be available for you to watch instantly through our online player on any computer, tablet, or mobile device that is connected to the internet and is able to stream video.
  • After you receive your purchase confirmation email, login to www.fxecademy.com on your computer, tablet, or mobile device.
  • Once logged in you have several ways to get to your purchased courses:
    • In the main menu, hover over the Active Courses link; then click on the My Active Courses link.
    • In the main menu, click your Display Name; then click the Courses link on your account page.
  • Select the course title to be taken to the course page. There you will find lessons, tutorial videos and downloadable media

If your tutorial contains project media, you will find a link for it on the course or lesson page.

There are two ways to download your ShotKits™ and other downloadable purchases:

Method One: New Downloads

To access new purchases of media products, like our ShotKits™, you must use method two.  Course and lesson media must be accessed through the course or lesson page.

  1. In the main menu, click on your Display Name which takes you to your Account page.
  2. Click on the Downloads link on your Account page.
  3. Click on the download button. 
    This takes you to the download details page where you can see the size of the zip file.
  4. Click the DOWNLOAD button on the download page.
  5. Verify CAPTCHA to Download > check the ‘I’m not a robot’ box
  6. Do not click the Download button again; your download should start automatically.
    1. If you click download you will get a second copy
    2. Only use this button if your download does not start within a minute or so
  7. If your browser asks where to save the file,
    1. Choose where you want to save the file in the Save dialogue box
    2. Click OK in the Save dialogue box to start the download
  8. Use the invisible X in the upper right corner to close the Zip Download window when done.
Method Two: My Download History

Any file you previously downloaded can be accessed in your history.

  1. Start the process in the main menu; hover over your name; then click on My Download History link.
    • The Download History lists each item you previously downloaded.
    • Other information, such as the size and version number, and our last update  is listed in the table.
    • At the bottom of the list are buttons to view another ten items
  2. Click on the name of the item you want to download again to get to its download page.
    • Here you will find additional information
    • Click DOWNLOAD button to begin
  3. Verify CAPTCHA to Download > check the ‘I’m not a robot’ box
  4. Do not click the Download button again; your download should start automatically.
    1. If you click download you will get a second copy
    2. Only use this button if your download does not start within a minute or so
  5. If your browser asks where to save the file,
    1. Choose where you want to save the file in the Save dialogue box
    2. Click OK in the Save dialogue box to start the download
  6. Use the invisible X in the upper right corner to close the Zip Download window when done.
  7. PDF files may open in a browser window.  Use your browser PDF controls to download the file.

  • No. Our course lessons require a licensed version to complete assignments.
  • The non-commercial version of Nuke® may not be used for training per the Foundry.

  • If you have not already used the 30-day trial version of Nuke® download it at https://www.foundry.com/products/Nuke
  • Use the Try for free button and fill in the required information.
  • If you install the 30-day trial version before purchasing your Nuke® license from FX Ecademy, it will extend your 12-week Nuke® license by an additional 4-weeks.
  • When you install your FX Ecademy Nuke® license it will not activate until the 30-day trial period ends.
  • The 30-day trial version will be node-locked to the machine you registered with the Foundry.
  • Please view the computer requirements needed to run the Nuke® software at https://support.foundry.com
  • To get an FX Ecademy 90-day Nuke® node-locked license you must be currently enrolled in one of our mentored courses. 
  • Please let us know during your Student Application interview if you will require a student Nuke® license.
  • When you are accepted into the course and enrolled you will be contacted with instructions on how to purchase your fully functional Nuke® license for $90USD directly from Foundry.
  • You will need to provide us your System ID, computer type, and OS.

  • It can take from 3-7 days to receive your FX Ecademy node-locked license from the time of request due to processing time and International datelines.
  • If you are using the 30-day trial version of Nuke®, the time frame should be on the shorter side of this time window.

If you have a trial license, your installed, purchased Nuke® license will not activate until the trial ends. Just proceed in trial mode.

If you are having trouble with your Nuke® license please contact Support at Foundry. https://support.foundry.com/hc/en-us.

No. Once activated there is no mechanism to suspend the node-locked license.

All requests for FX Ecademy licenses and extensions must go through FX Ecademy. Do not contact the Foundry directly.

  • Yes, you can purchase an additional 90-day license by contacting Get Support and choosing the Nuke Licensing option in the I have a support issue with * drop-down menu. 
  • Occasionally, students only have a couple of weeks left when their license time out and the Foundry may grant short-term extensions which need to be authorized by FX Ecademy. Contact Get Support and leave us a message to this affect.
  • Please contact our Support Team for help at least one week prior to your license timing out. We will confirm your student status to Foundry.

Absolutely! Due to the complexity of this type of request we ask that you contact Steve with information about your needs to get a special quote.

No. Our tutorials, webinars, workshops and ShotKitsTM are for individual use only. Any other use is a violation of our user Terms of Use  .

We offer multi-user educational discounts for qualified educational institutions. Please contact Steve for more information.
